About

A telecoms brand built in the Scottish Borders

Tweed Telecom is the phone side of MB Computers: hosted extensions, UK numbers and the support that goes with them.

Why a separate brand?

MB Computers has looked after IT for businesses in the Borders for years. Phones kept coming up in the same conversations — an old PBX needing replacement, a team that had gone mobile-first, a reception desk that could not see who was calling.

Tweed Telecom exists to do that work properly: a hosted phone system that is planned, configured and supported by the same people who look after the network it runs on.

We are not a call centre and we do not resell a national product from a distance. We are small enough to know your setup and technical enough to fix it.

How we work

Straightforward, on purpose

Plan it properly

We look at how calls actually arrive: who answers, what happens at lunchtime, what a missed call should do next.

Keep it documented

Extensions, numbers, routing and limits are written down, so support does not depend on someone's memory.

Support locally

The people who built the system answer the phone. No tier-one script, no ticket disappearing into a national queue.

MB Computers

IT support, networks and hardware for Borders businesses. Tweed Telecom runs alongside it, sharing the same engineers and the same approach to support.

One team for IT and phones

When a call quality problem turns out to be a broadband problem, it helps that the same people can see both. That is the practical reason Tweed Telecom sits inside MB Computers rather than beside it.

It also means we can be honest about what a phone system will not fix. Hosted telephony is good at a lot of things; it is not a substitute for a working internet connection.
